Government to go on appeal against order of Information Commission on Cabinet decisions

Office of State Information CommissionThiruvananthapuram: The government will go on appeal before High Court against the order of the State Information Commission that details of Cabinet decisions taken by the previous government should be released under RTI Act.

This has been communicated to the Commission by the government.

Representative picture on RTIOfficials of the General Administration Department has not complied with the order of the State Information Commission to provide documents relating to Cabinet decisions under the Right to Information Act.

Chief Information Commissioner Vinson M. Paul had ordered the State Public Information Officer of the General Administration (SC) Department on June 15 to furnish the documents to applicant Advocate D. B. Binu, General Secretary of Human Rights Defence Forum within ten days under the Act.

1.6 lakh cases pending before High Court of Kerala

List of disposal of cases by High Court judgesAs many as 160886 cases were pending disposal before the Kerala High Court as on March 31 this year. Of them, 36370 were criminal cases.

The district courts had pendency of 34772 civil cases and 32559 criminal cases. Sub courts had pendency of 56356 civil and 18351 criminal cases.
