Opposition plans protest in the Assembly against Minister Babu

Gates of the Kerala AssemblyThe Assembly will be meeting only for 11 days during its 15th session beginning on November 30.

The House will not meet from December 9 to 13. The session will end on December 17, according to current schedule.

Bill to regulate harthals proposes fine on police officials

The Cabinet cleared the draft Bill on Friday for introduction in the Assembly.
The Bill seeks to specify that forced closure of shops and blocking the movement of vehicles or employees and workers reporting for duty will be a punishable offence attracting six months’ imprisonment or a fine of Rs. 10000 or both. (Updated).

Assembly to meet from November 30

AssemblyKerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to recommend to the Governor the convening of the Assembly from November 30.

The session will be mainly devoted to legislative business and passing of supplementary demands for grants.

The Cabinet also decided to disburse all welfare pensions through banks from next month.

GST: Joint Committee submits report on business processes

A Joint Committee on Business Processes for Goods and Service Tax (GST), set up by the Empowered Committee on GST, has submitted three draft reports on refunds, payment process and registration.

The Ministry of Finance has made these reports available on their website http://dor.gov.in/SCGST/ for public comments.
