Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan held discussions with the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court on Tuesday about the conflict between the media and lawyers in the State.

The Chief Minister told the media after the meeting with the Chief Justice at the latter’s residence here that the issue would be resolved. The Chief Justice was positive about resolving the issue and the Registrar of High Court would soon issue a circular in this regard.

Thiruvananthapuram: The controversy over appointment of relatives of CPI (M) leaders in key posts in public sector units intensified with the CPI organ Janayugam coming out with an editorial criticising the CPI (M) for the appointments on Monday.

Thiruvananthapuram: Appointments of relatives of Industries Minister E. P. Jayarajan in public sector undertakings have invited protests from within LDF and outside.

Kerala State Electricity Board’s online services will be suspended for three days from October 8 in connection with upgradation of its data centre.

As part of ensuring proper back up for data stored in data centre in Thiruvananthapuram, the Board is setting up a data revovery centre at Infopark at Cherthala. Mock drill for this is to be conducted during the next three days.

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has cancelled the appointment of P. K. Sudheer, son of CPI (M) Member of Parliament P. K. Sreemathi, as Managing Director of Kerala State Industrial Enterprises (KSIE), after the appointment sparked a controversy.

Sudheer is also the nephew of Industries Minister E. P. Jayarajan.  KSIE is under Industries Department.

Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan said that he did not know of the appointment while BJP leader V. Muraleedharan alleged that it was a party decision and not just that of Mr. Jayarajan.
