Amit Shah makes a strategic visit to Sivagiri Mutt

BJP president Amit Shah attending NDA meet in Thiruvananthapuram on ThursdayThiruvananthapuram: BJP president Amit Shah has offered Central assistance to a number of developmental activities at Sivagiri during his visit to the Mutt on Thursday.

Promises were also made regarding measures such as naming of an airport after Sree Narayana Guru.

While reports said that the Mr. Shah was aiming at bridging the difference between the Mutt and SNDP Yogam and the political party promoted by it (BDJS) through his visit, Mutt authorities maintained that no political issues were discussed during the visit.

Mr. Shah attended poojas and other functions at the Mutt.

Earlier, he asked party leaders to woo dalits, minorities and marginalised sections and focus on improving its electoral performance.

A meeting of the national democratic alliance, attended by Mr. Shah, resolved to initiate steps to widen the alliance. It would be attempted over the next six months.
