Kerala Cabinet decided to cancel all government orders for Aranmula airport including approval, in principle, granted for the airport on Wednesday.
Pension to Commission members
It also decided to grant pensions to non-official members appointed to various statutory commissions. Those appointed on or after January 1 this year will be eligible. However, they will not be eligible for dearness allowance, minimum pension or family pension.
New ITI at Perambra
An industrial training institute will be set up at Perambra in Kozhikode district with courses for draftsman, agriculture machinery, civil and mechanical trades.
The government will bear expenses on medical treatment of music director M. K. Arjunan. Pushpan, who was under treatment for the past 22 years following injury sustained in police firing at Koothuparamba on November 25, 1994, will be given Rs. 5 lakhs, a wheel chair and monthly pension of Rs. 8000.
SIRD to be merged with KILA
The Cabinet resolved to merge State Institute of Rural Development with Kerala Institute of Local Administration. The 'Thiruppoovaram' (annuity) granted to religious and charitable institutions will be tripled. Besides, an increase of 25 per cent will be granted every five year.
