Mani keeps off UDF meet

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress (Mani) leaders kept away from UDF meeting on Monday.

Though the meeting was held taking the convenience of Kerala Congress leader K. M. Mani also into consideration, Mr. Mani informed the UDF leaders that he would not be able to attend the meeting owing to personal inconveniences. Though P. J. Joseph was in Thiruvananthapuram, he also did not attend the meeting.

The meeting, held at the residence of Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, was the first meeting of the Front after Mr. Chennithala became Leader.

Kerala Congress organ Prathichaya had earlier carried articles critical of Congress for betraying Kerala Congress in the bar corruption case.  Mr. Chennithala had been targeted by the publication. The party was angered by Congress leader Oommen Chandy and Chennithala attending a function connected with proposal of marriage of daughter of Biju Ramesh, who had raised allegations against Mr. Mani, with son of Congress leader Adoor Prakash.
