Governor calls for settlement of conflict between the media and lawyers

Governor P. SathasivamThiruvananthapuram: Governor of Kerala P. Sathasivam has appealed to the members of the legal and media fraternities in Kerala to settle their differences amicably through dialogue.

In a message, the Governor said that the civil society had high expectations from lawyers and Journalists, as the functions they serve are integral to the maintenance of democracy in the country.

UDF MLAs begin hunger strike in Assembly

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Opposition Leader noted that many environmentalists, agriculture scientists and farmers had raised concerns about commercial cultivation of genetically modified crops.

Vigilance presses on

The Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau is continuing investigation into the wealth allegedly amassed by former Excise Minister K. Babu.

The Vigilance Police, which had raided the House of Mr. Babu and his relatives and alleged benamis on Sunday, today examined the locker of Mr. Babu’s daughter.

Update:  Vigilance police have examined the contents of another bank locker belonging to the daughter of K. Babu on Tuesday.
