Speaker to pronounce judgement on disqalification petition agianst P. C. George

Speaker N. SakthanKerala Assembly Speaker N. Sakthan will be pronouncing his decision on the petition filed by Kerala Congress (M) to disqualify former Government Chief Whip P. C. George from membership of the Assembly for defection on Friday.

The Speaker told the media here today that a judgment on the petition has to be pronounced irrespective of whether Mr. George proposed to resign

UDF fails to meet formally

The United Democratic Front failed to meet this morning to take decision on the demand for resignation of Finance Minister K. M. Mani over the High Court observations in the bar-bribery case

A formal meeting of Front leadership had to be aborted as the Finance Minister conveyed his unwillingness to resign.

Election of mayors, muncipal chairman on November 18

Thiruvananthapuram: The election of city corporation mayors and municipal chairmen will take place on November 18 morning. Deputy mayors and vice chairmen will also be elected on the same day afternoon.

The election of presidents and vice president for the district, block and grama panchayats will take place on November 19.

The election will be by open ballot by the members. The members will be sworn in November 12.

The newly invented biosensor is highly sensitive to glucose and capable of measuring the range of glucose in saliva accurately in a convenient, safe and inexpensive manner.
