Committee to recommend on amendments to Marine Fisheries Act

Minister J. Mercykutty AmmaThiruvananthapuram: Fisheries Minister J. Mercykutty Amma told the Assembly on Monday that government had appointed a committee with experts to recommend on amendments to the Kerala Marine Fishing Regulation Act.

The committee will examine further measures for conservation of fishes, licensing of fishing boats and compulsory training to fishermen, among other things.

Assembly passes amendments to Infrastructure Investment Fund Act

Finance Minister Thomas Isaac piloting Investment Fund Bill on Nov. 2Kerala Assembly unanimously passed the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund (Amendment) Bill on Wednesday.

The Bill seeks to enable the Fund Board to employ new fund mobilisation methods to finance infrastructure development measures announced in the revised Budget for the current year. 

Rajagopal walks out in Assembly over Malappuram blast

Government plans trauma care facilities in all major hospitals

Intervening in the discussion on road safety initiated by K. S. Sabarinadan (Congress) as a matter of urgent public importance, the Minister said that the next meeting of the Road Safety Authority would consider the scheme.
