National Defence Univeristy to be formed soon: Modi

Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the country would continue to strengthen its defence capabilities and infrastructure, engage our neighbours more closely and strengthen our regional and global partnerships, including in maritime security.

The Prime Minister was addressing the Combined Commanders Conference on board INS Vikramaditya at Sea, off the coast of Kochi.

Governor P. Sathasivam, Oommen Chandy and other dignitaries received him at the naval airport. From the airport, the Prime Minister went to Thrissur where he is to address a public meeting organised by the BJP.

Opposition disrupts Kerala Assembly, climbs on the Speaker's podium

This is crucial because safety of Mullaperiyar Dam depends on Probable Maximum Flood, and any arguments over water level in the Dam cannot be carried forward without establishing PMF.
