Kerala Assembly observed the 60th anniversary of the first full sitting of the First Kerala Assembly on Thursday with nostalgic memories.
The House held a commemorative sitting in the old Assembly Hall attached to the Secretariat where the Assembly had its sessions until June 28, 1998.

Kerala Finance Minister T. M. Thomas Isaac has demanded that government employees and pensioners should be allowed to withdraw their salaries in full in cash.
In a letter to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the Minister said that the existing restrictions on withdrawals should be withdrawn to facilitate this.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has refused appointment to all-party delegation headed by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan that proposed to meet Mr. Modi on Thursday to seek resolution of crisis in the cooperative sector following demonetisation.
The Prime Minister’s Office reportedly directed the delegation to meet Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Following this, the delegation cancelled its trip to Delhi. The LDF has announced that it would observe Thursday as black day in protest against Mr. Modi’s decision.
