Descrimiantion in according State honours

Full State honours with gun salute and sounding of bugle was given to P. K. S. Raja, Zamorin of Kozhikode. However, the same was not accorded to Ramavarma Kochaniyan Thampuran, Rajah of Kochi

No State honours were given to Supreme Court judge K. S. Paripoornan.

Sukesan was reprimanded earlier: Home Minister

Home Minister Ramesh ChennithalaHome Minister Ramesh Chennithala said on Saturday that report against Superintendent of Police (Vigilannce) R. Sukesan had not been kept in cold storage for more than one year as alleged.
The Home Minister said that Mr. Sukesan had been reprimanded on receipt of the report.  There was no recommendation for crime branch probe against Mr. Sukesan in the report.

Crime Branch case against police officer who probed bar bribery

R. Sukesan, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance)Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered a crime branch probe against Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) R. Sukesan and Bar Hotel Owners Association leader Biju Ramesh for allegedly conspiring to implicate Ministers in bar bribery.

The order was issued on the basis of a report of Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau citing audio recordings submitted by Mr. Ramesh before a magistrate court as evidence of crime.

Five years of UDF government was golden age of opportunites, says Governor

Governor P. Sathasivam addressing Asssembly on FridayKerala Governor P. Sathasivam devoted most of his address to the Assembly today for highlighting the achievements of the government during the past (nearly) five years.

Describing those years as golden age of opportunities, the Governor recalled that the government had ensured realization of some of the major infrastructure projects in the State such as the Kochi Metro Rail and Kochi Smart City project. Test landing at Kannur airport will take place this month and work had started on Vizhijam seaport.

Kerala Governor chides Opposition

Opposition protesting in Kerala Asssembly on FridayGovernor P. Sathasivam today chided the Opposition which protested with banners in the Kerala Assembly against the Government during his address to the House.

The Governor told the Opposition to better keep quite or leave the House.  The Opposition left the House after a few minutes of protest.
