DGP Jacob Thomas makes another dig at Chief Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Director General of Police Jacob Thomas made another dig at Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday.

Speaking at a seminar at Ernakulam Press Club, Mr. Thomas said that installation of Web cameras in offices would not ensure transparency. Such gimmicks are intended to hoodwink the public. It would only encourage corruption. Otherwise, cameras would have to be installed everywhere in the State.

He stressed that government offices are not obliged to obey illegal orders of elected representatives though they are above officials.
