Thiruvananthapuram: Despite all the talk about implementation of right to services, the first services from Kerala to go online on the national eservice portal are not those meant for the common man but for the bar hotels.
The portal http://serviceonline.gov.in now lists nine services but only seven are available on login. Of them, four relates to bar licences and the rest to registration as approved suppliers to Government under Stores Purchase Department.
The services realating to licences include renewal of licence for beer/wine parlours (FL-11) and bars (FL 3), renewal of club licence (FL 4A), license for serving liquor in special occasions (FL 6) and registration of brand of foreign liquor. These services can be obtained in seven days.
The eService Delivery Framework features a document depository and facilities for making service requests, ascertaining their status, lodging grievances, messaging and feedback. The site says that 91.7 per cent of the 1887 applications received so far have been disposed off and the rest were under processing. None of the applications had been rejected.
