New Delhi: The Centre will allocate Rs 580 crore for urban development in Kerala.
During a meeting with a delegation from Kerala comprising Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said Kannur and Guruvayoor would be included in Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) project.
“Also the allocation for housing projects will be raised. The new smart city for Kerala will be considered next fiscal,” he said, adding that extension of Kochi metro will also be considered.
The Centre also decided to grant financial assistance of Rs 1000 crore to FACT on condition, an official release said.
