Kochi: The Central range of Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau (VACB) plans to organise a drive for clearance of files in government offices with cooperation of non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
The first of camps for disposal of pending files will be taken up at Kumbalangi Village office on July 16 or later. The decision was taken on the basis of interactions between NGOs and VACB. The Kumbalangi village officer too has extended his support for the programme.
The idea is to adopt offices to make them corruption free. The NGOs will report attempts for corruption to the VACB and the VACB is to take prompt action.
As part of the plan, list of pending files in the village offices would be taken and initiatives taken for their clearance.
There is also plan to conduct a one day vigilance awareness workshop in Ernakulam district. Publicity will be given for the VACB initiative by the NGOs.
